• One Solution Letter: After you think you've solved the case, read Sherlock's clue letter to see how yours compares.

• First-Class Postage: Each of your letters is delivered via First-Class mail, using a real stamp.

Letters for the Practice Case Club are mailed approximately once per week.

Who Is The Practice Case Club For?

This club is meant primarily as an add-on for current Dear Holmes members who want more mysteries to solve. It features mysteries that were first released at least eighteen months ago.

We don't recommend the Practice Club as a stand-alone offering for new members who have never experienced Dear Holmes before, but new members can join it if they'd like.

If I Join With A Friend, Will We Receive The Same Mysteries?

Yes. All members of the Practice Club receive the same mystery each month.

Will I Receive A Welcome Letter?

No. Members of the Practice Club do not receive our welcome letter, since most members are existing "detectives" familiar with the Dear Holmes experience.

When Will I Receive My First Letter?

Mysteries start once a month. We do not start members mid-mystery, so if you join today, you will receive a letter at the start of the next mystery.

Why Do Some Mysteries Include Four Clue Letters?

In 2023, we modified our format to switch from four clue letters to three slightly longer clue letters. Since this collection draws mysteries from our archive, some have three clue letters and some have four.

Does This Club Include Podcast Access?

This club doesn't yet include access to the Dear Holmes private podcast. We expect to add podcast access for Practice Club members in 2025.

Can I Compete In The Featured Detective Competition?

While we only run Featured Detective competitions for our new mysteries, you're welcome to send us your solution to a practice mystery. We may feature a few of the best submissions on our blog.

Does The Practice Case Club Auto-Renew?

Yes, the Practice Case Club is an auto-renewing subscription. You're under no obligation to renew, though, and can cancel your subscription via your Dear Holmes account at any time.

Can I Purchase a Full-Year Membership?

We don't offer a full-year membership to the Practice Case Club yet, but we expect to offer one next year.
